Renstar Employee Spotlight: Al Goetz

Renstar Employee Spotlight: Al Goetz

Latest News

It’s safe to say Al Goetz doesn’t have just one job title at Renstar Medical Research.  You will find Al in the lab processing samples, behind a computer fixing IT issues, or traveling to and from Renstar clinics maintaining our equipment.

Al began his employment at Renstar in 1999. Before working for Renstar, he worked as an air conditioning technician.

A visit to Al’s workspace shows he has a real passion for cars. Pictures of old race cars and racing memorabilia line his walls. In his spare time, Al likes to work on and clean his own cars, including his 2003 red Mazda Miata, pictured above.

However, it’s not his Miata that he is most proud of in life.  It’s his two daughters, Jourdan, who is 27 years old and lives in Daytona Beach, FL and Hailey, who is 25 years old and lives in Canada.

Al has been married to Connie Goetz for two years.

Al also enjoys spending time outdoors on activities such as trail riding and target shooting.

Al graduated from the University of Florida in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science.  So during college football season, Al only cheers for one team – the Florida Gators!  And if he had his choice, he would do so while enjoying his favorite food, the juicy pork tenderloin from Harry’s Seafood Bar and Grille.

Over the past 18 years, Al has had plenty of memorable moments while working at Renstar.  However, for Al, it’s more like a series of events.  “For six weeks in 2004, I had to deal with four hurricanes,” Al said. “I had to spend the night at Renstar during each of them while tending to the generators.”

Renstar is fortunate to have such a hard working, versatile employee.

So on Wednesdays, the one day when Al drives his Miata to work, you can catch him with the top down, sunglasses on, and the Dave Matthews Band turned up.
