Renstar Employee Spotlight: Julady Mederos

Renstar Employee Spotlight: Julady Mederos

June’s Employee Spotlight news story is a double feature: Julady Mederos and her daughter-to-be, Katherine.

Julady was born in Miami, FL, and comes from a large family with five other siblings: Bryan, 21; Amy, 22; Katia, 30; Sury, 38 and Abiel 40. Growing up, her grandfather was her biggest influence in her life. He always made sure she stayed on track with her Bible readings.

She moved to Ocala when she was 10 years old. She and her husband, Asael Castillo, met at the Ocala Livestock Pavillion at a friend’s graduation. Julady said her friend is the reason why she and Asael are together today. Julady calls Asael “Belleza” which means “beauty” in English.

A brief move back to Miami is where her career in medical research all started. She worked as a Research Coordinator on various clinical trials for studies such as diabetes and migraines. In August 2015, she began working at Renstar Medical Research.

“What I love the most about Renstar is the atmosphere,” Julady said. “It is so loving and caring.”

In her spare time, she likes to cook and eat with friends. Her favorite food to cook at home is “Tostones” or fried plantains. If she is out at a restaurant, her favorite food is the free bread that is brought to the table. When dessert is served, Julady can indulge in anything made with lemons.

On or around July 6th, 2017, Katherine Castillo will make her grand entrance into the world, blessing the lives of everyone she meets. The three things Julady looks forward to the most with Katherine is seeing her smile and laugh and hearing her say “Mommy” for the first time. And while Katherine will not have the chance to meet her great-grandfather who inspired Julady’s life, she will be surrounded with family who will lead her and keep her guided in the right direction.

We look forward to welcoming the newest addition to our Renstar family!
