It was another successful Walk-to-End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, October 21, 2017, in Tuscawilla Park. For the second year in a row, Renstar was proud to be the Presenting Sponsor. Carol Jackson, Project Manager, spoke to a crowd of over 500 people about Renstar Medical Research. She spoke about our devotion in finding a cure to the devastating disease of Alzheimer’s and the importance of early detection through free memory evaluations provided by Renstar.
“I was thrilled to be a part of the Walk and was really proud that Renstar was the Presenting Sponsor again,” said Carol. “My favorite moment of the day was the flower ceremony, where participants held up a certain colored flower based on their experience with the disease. It is the most emotional part of the event.”
Renstar had a rock decorating tent where the public was invited to decorate a rock or two to take home. Renstar also had brochures and flyers about our Alzheimer’s clinical trials and more information about our free memory evaluations that are offered to the community.
As a company, Renstar’s walk team, “Renstar Alz-Starz” was able to fundraise over $2,000.00 to donate to the Alzheimer’s Association. This came from individual team donations, individual fundraising, and our in-office fundraisers.
“Most of all, I really loved spending the morning with my Renstar family,” Carol said. “It is great to have our study coordinators who are involved in the Alzheimer’s studies come out and walk. They are a really dedicated group; they care so much about the patient and their caregivers.”
Renstar is already looking ahead to the Ocala Walk-to-End Alzheimer’s for 2018! We hope to see everyone there!
